These are some of the
cognitive truisms used in ACCIs workbooks to help participants become self
aware. Self awareness is the first step to make life changes. Without
self awareness or becoming cognitive of ones situation, no progress can be made.
-
If you are not happy, it is
your fault.
-
If people dont believe
you, it is because you dont tell the truth.
-
If your parents dont
trust you, it is because you are not trustworthy.
-
If you feel inadequate, it is
because you are. No one is perfect.
-
People who anger you control
you.
-
You didnt have control
over your beginnings, but you do your endings.
-
If you rely on others for
your self esteem, you dont have any self esteem.
-
When you do wrong or break
laws, you empower others to control your life.
-
Doing wrong is like spitting
into the wind; some of it will always come back on us.
-
Grow up, stop whining, chill
out, let it go, get a life.
-
People who dont tell
the truth lose their words because nobody believes them.
-
Not everyone will like you,
but that is okay.
-
Mistake is the name you give
to your bad choices.
-
You can choose to do wrong,
but you cant choose the consequences.
-
The more you try to fix
others, the more you ruin yourself.
-
No one can put you down
unless you give them your permission.
-
What you do to others, you do
to yourself.
-
A survivor has healed. A
victim still has an open wound.
-
If you feel lonely, hopeless,
helpless, rejected and defeated, welcome to life.
-
The biggest lies are the lies
you tell yourself.
-
If we dont like
ourselves, we will punish ourselves.
-
If I am not responsible for
my life, then who is?
-
You have the power to heal or
hurt, so why not heal?
-
Our definition of what is
right or wrong might be wrong.
-
It isnt life that
causes our problems, but how you react to them.
-
Those you love the most can
hurt you the most.
-
Those who feel superior to
others are really inferior.
